Particle Physics and Quantum Phenomena

Particle Physics is very much at the cutting edge of Physics as I write this. 

 

The photoelectric effect did exactly the same to Physics one hundred years ago; light was a wave and that was that.  Or was it?

 

Quantum Physics explains many things that Classical Physics cannot.  Many everyday electronic devices depend on quantum physics, e.g. charge-coupled devices in a digital camera, or the light emitting diode.

 

Particle Physics continues to capture the imagination.
